Grainge Architects is led by three directors who together provide a broad cross-section of experience and skills.

The team comprises architects and urban designers, assistant architects, technicians and administrative back-up. The practice operates an equal opportunities policy, and actively endeavours to maintain a diverse team profile.

We work from our new purpose built office, in which all staff work together in a studio environment, enabling directors to maintain close 'hands-on' involvement in all projects.

  James has excellent communication and management skills. As an energetic and creative enabler with substantial construction experience, he enjoys driving projects. He also plays a large role in management of the practice.

  Tony is a highly creative architect with strong front end skills attuned to rapid design studies, and proven project management and team-leadership capabilities. He combines commercial realism with a sensitive design approach.

  Peter Harflett

  Peter is a sensitive designer, experienced in unlocking difficult planning constraints with creative designs and crafting these through to elegant built solutions. He takes overall responsibility for many of the practice's projects, and an active interest in others.
